The upside of curating products is you get to try different products, anticipating improvements and changes as time passes by. The downside is no matter how through and diligent you are sometimes a product comes along with a formula that's not quite right. I had a very minor reaction to a product I was testing, whenever that happens I quickly switch back to my first aid skincare products that quickly soothe and heal my skin. Unfortunately for me, this time I was out of my go to hydrating oil free moisturizer so I reached for the new Clinique moisture surge to help with hydration. The minute I applied it, I could feel the hydration on my skin. It provided the healing and soothing my skin needed at the time but at the end of the jar, I was on the fence and the following is why.

Oil free gel cream claims to work non stop for 72 hours – even after washing your face. Auto replenishing technology actually helps skin create its own internal water source to continually rehydrate itself. Then locks on moisture for an endlessly plump, dewy, healthy looking glow.

ACTIVE /NOTEWORTHY INGREDIENTS
DIMETHICONE: Second ingredient listed. It’s a silicone that gives products lubricity, slip and a good feel. It also has beem reported to protect skin against moisture loss when used in large quantities. If you have any issues with dimethicone, this is not for you but if you have questions about it please speak to your dermatologist or esthetician for guidance.
BUTYLENE GLYCOL : it enhances the preservative activity of parabens and it’s a humectant
SILYBUM MARIANUM (LADY'S THISTLE): helps with would healing and free radical fighting properties.
BETULA ALBA(BIRCH) BARK EXTRACT : anti irritants , antiseptic and effective in acne treatments.
HOW TO USE IT
AM &PM
I used it in the AM AND PM after cleansing, applying my toner, I would use a generous amount of moisture surge over my face and décolletage. The days I wanted to combat irritated or dehydrated skin, I would slather this on like a face mask and leave it on through the night. It would soothe my skin and leave it plump.
HOW LONG DID I TEST THE PRODUCT?
I purchased April 14th and ran out of product today (May 3rd). It bought the 50ml jar plus I was heavy handed with the gel cream hence it did not last long.

CON
Honestly, I didn't feel the my skin auto replenishing hydration. It hydrated my skin on contact but on some days my skin felt dehydrated half way through the day.
The packaging is a big no for me. If you have read any of my past reviews, you would know I really am not a fan of screw on jars. It just leaves room for contamination and the minute the jar is popped open, in my opinion it affects the efficacy of the ingredients; I would have loved a more air tight tube or jar.
As mentioned earlier, the Clinique brand can be found pretty much in most countries so hopefully a few people would have gotten a chance to try the old moisture surge or the moisture surge 72hours.
