Clinique launched the Pep- start line this year which consists of an eye cream, a hydrating moisturizer and an exfoliating face wash. All three are multitasking products; so the face wash cleans and exfoliates, the eye cream reduces puffiness and dark cycles and the moisturizer hydrates and acts as a primer. I was obviously curious about these products and decided to test them out and find out if it they were worth the hype.
CLINIQUE PEPSTART HYDRO BLUR MOISTURIZER
(CLAIMS)
Clinique Pep- start hydro blur moisturizer is an oil free face cream that is a cross between a primer and a lightweight moisturizer. It claims to instantly blur imperfections while preping the skin for makeup. It is supposed to keep your skin hydrated all day while maintaining a matte finish
ACTIVE INDGREDIENT
No ingredient list was included with this product which I found highly disappointing. As much as Clinique is a well-known brand , I feel they still owe it the consumer to list the ingredients of each product
PRICE $29.50
HOW TO USE IT
I use it in the AM. After cleansing, toner, essence and serums/treatment, I apply about a dime size amount in my palm and massage it onto my skin. Finally, as always I apply my SPF. I do not use this at night .

CONCLUSION
Pro
It is a good mattifying moisturizer, especially for people with oily skin who wear makeup daily. The minute you apply it, it takes off any shine from your skin and keeps it oil free most of the day.
The Clinique pep start moisturizer is a good option for makeup artist to have in their makeup kit for clients who might need prepping before make up is applied.
Since it is a multitasking product, you can literally take it on a trip and not worry about packing a primer or a bunch of other mattifying products.
Cons
This moisturizer is more of a primer than a hydrating moisturizer. It is great if you want any simple, quick and mattified look on the day you choose to go make up free or something to wear under makeup but I wouldn’t recommend this as a staple face cream
It is really thick and has a silicone like texture so it requires you massage it in properly for it to absorb into your skin.
The packaging is secure but sometimes it can be a pain screw the top back on
It has no additional benefit to skin i.e. antioxidants
Overall I do not dislike the moisturizer , personally I think it is a good primer option for no makeup days or days and night outs when you do want to wear but I don’t see this replacing my daily moisturizer.
I look forward to hearing from you if you have any questions or comments about this product or any other skin related question. Have a blessed week.
