KLAIRS FRESHLY JUICED VITAMIN C DROP

KLAIRS FRESHLY JUICED VITAMIN C DROP

There are two skincare items that are staples in my skincare routine and I always recommend to clients; they are vitamin C and sunscreen. In my opinion every skin type can benefit from using these two products. Before I go into the review of KLAIRS VITAMIN C SERUM, I would like to discuss the general benefits of vitamin c.

WHAT IS VITAMIN C?

It is an antioxidant that helps protect the body from free radicals. Vitamin c is an important vitamin needed for proper repair of tissue and skin. VITAMIN C helps fight against aging and promotes collagen production in the dermal tissues. Vitamin C also renews vitamin E by allowing it to neutralize free radicals.  When it is applied topically, it has been found to lightening the skin as well as increase collagen.

When ingested vitamin c also has tremendous benefits that it adds to the body. It can be found in citrus foods, leafy vegetables etc. It helps the body fight colds or diseases and also destroys free radicals found on the body.

Needless to say, there are a lot of positive to incorporating vitamin c into your daily routine either for your skin or overall wellbeing.

It penetrates the skin better than glycerin and it also gives pleasant feel with less greasiness than glycerin. It absorbs water from the air. It has preservative properties against bacteria and fungi when used in higher percentage but this is also a concern because it can be irritating to the skin used over 5 percent.

 PACKAGING

Beautiful plastic bottle with a dropper pump. The positive of storing it in a plastic bottle is you worry less about breaking the bottle plastic bottle and spilling the content however this is the first vitamin c serum that I have used that comes in a transparent bottle. Usually I prefer the serum  is stored in an opaque bottle that would preserve it from losing its effectiveness or changing its color. I didn’t have any issues with this product but I advice storing it away in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight.

CONCLUSION

Pro:

Usually when I purchase vitamin c serums, the minimum strength purchase is 20 percent but I decided to test this product in order to have options/recommendation for first timers to vitamin c serum or sensitive skin types. Based on latter, I would recommend this product to the above mentioned.

It is non irritating

It didn’t dry my skin out at all

It is slightly moisturizing

It did not clog my pores

The serum is slightly thick so it is easy to apply

In the three months of testing this product it never oxidized.

My skin was brighter but it was gradual and nothing drastic.

 Cons:

I would have preferred it was stored in an opaque bottle just to further guarantee stability
