So, this summer, my husband decided to apply to join the beard gang. When he told me, I chuckled? Then I thought well, you only live once. I decided it would be a good experience, and would provide me with content and amusement. I remember going to the store with him, and I was fascinated to see that they had more product for beards than male facial products. So, we picked the Billy Jealousy Gnarly Sheen oil as his first product, because the attendant said that it would nourish the beard, and as a byproduct it would foster growth. And so, our journey to join the beard gang began.
The next few male skincare posts will be focused on beard grooming products, as we watch how my husband's beard turns out.
BILLY JEALOUSY GNARLY SHEEN (CLAIMS)
The nutrient rich blend conditions both your beard and the skin underneath, helping eliminate itch and flakes.
ACTIVE INGREDIENTS
SUNFLOWER OIL: This oil is considered non comedogenic. It is a carrier oil that softens and smooths the skin
SWEET ALMOND OIL: an emollient and a carrier, providing an elegant skin feel and promoting spreadabilty in creams, lotions and bath oils.
AVOCADO OIL: it is bactericidal and soothing particularly to sensitive skin. It has excellent penetration and sun screening properties.
SOYBEAN OIL: often used as a smoothing ingredient. Considered by some to be somewhat comedogenic but does not cause irritation.

HOW TO USE IT:
Apply a couple pumps to your beard as needed.
HOW LONG DID I TEST THE PRODUCT?
Hubby: For about 3 - 4 months
FRAGRANCE
Hubby: Smells good. Smells masculine.
Bebe: It has a sandalwood fragrance. I really like the smell.
SKIN TYPE
Hubby: Oily
PACKAGING
Hubby: Nice packaging. It's small. I can throw it into a travel toilet bag. It comes with a small cap... which I lost. It doesn't seem like it will spill if I travel without the cap to protect it though.
Bebe: Cute black bottle. Very masculine looking. It can fit in any toiletry bag.
REPURCHASE:
Hubby: Soooo, it's supposed to make my beard feel soft and smooth. The problem is I'm not at beard gang level (I'm kinda at Beard gang-please-accept-my-application level), so I can't say I truly see the full benefit. It does make my face look really oily when I put it on in the morning, but that's probably because my beard isn't full enough, so most of it is going to my face. So, I think I'll reserve judgement until when I have a nice full beard (if I ever do).
