Even though we are in the harmattan months (winter/dry season), sunscreen is just as important as it is in the summer months. The use of sunscreen is a vital step in my skincare routine, but I must admit it’s not always easy finding the perfect sunscreen. In the past, some sunscreens are too thick, and consequently break me out, while others dry my skin out. The most common complaint I have heard is sunscreen leaves a white Cast on my face, which I have also experienced myself. So when I come across a sunscreen that ticks all the boxes, first I stock up and secondly I share it with anyone I come across. Dr jart+ Every Sunday UV SUN FLUID is my latest sunscreen obsession, and it’s a must have for anyone planning a trip to Nigeria for holidays or anywhere with adverse weather. Trust me, this is an awesome skin protector for people of colour.

 

DR JART + EVERY SUNDAY DAY UV SUN FLUID BROAD SPECTRUM SPF30 (CLAIM)

This is a liquid gel that protects your skin from urban life. It protects your skin by blocking both UV RAYS and fine dust. The anti-pollution shield creates a positive ion protection over your skin, blocking fine dust particles and air pollutants. The gel formula changes to a fresh water like texture for smooth lightweight application on the skin.

It helps prevent sunburn, and if used as directed with other protective measures, it decreases the risk of skincare cancer and early signs of aging caused by the sun.

SUNSCREENS

Homosalate 10.000%- a chemical UVB absorber with approved usage level is 4% to 15% in USA and 10% in Europe.

Octocrylene 5.000%- a UVB sunscreen with strong water resistant properties and good photostablity.

Octisalate  5.000% UVB protector

Avobenzone 3.000% sunscreen that offers broad range protector against UVA rays

HOW TO USE IT

After cleansing, toning, treatments and moisturizer, I apply a generous amount of Dr jart UV SUN FLUID in my palm and apply it on my face and neck area. 

KRÈME TIP: After applying the sunscreen on your face, massage in the residue on your hands for protection.  Your hands also show signs of aging too, so practicing this could prevent this from happening.

HOW LONG DID I TEST THE PRODUCT?

October –  November (over a month).

PROS

It absorbs quickly and easily into your skin.

No white cast left behind on your skin, so women of colour can use this with or without makeup.

My makeup actually blends in well when I use it.

No flash back in pictures.

I love the water like feel it gives my skin on application. It gives my skin a hydrated and light feel. AMAZING!!!!

It is not tacky or sticky.

Good size for the price.

And last but not least, it does not irritate, burn or break me out.
