OLEHENRISKEN POWER BRIGHT 25% VITAMIN C

OLEHENRISKEN POWER BRIGHT 25% VITAMIN C

Whenever I see Ole henriksen skincare range be it in store or online, I am transported to my teenage years where the love for skincare was blooming . I loved sheer transformation, I loved their toners and one of my favorite was the entire African red tea line. On my usual skin adventure to Sephora, the power bright caught my eye because I was in need of something to help eradicate slight photo damage after a well deserved vacation in the sun; well I was severely disappointed by this product.
I was left heart broken because I really wanted it to work out but it overworked my skin. Before testing it out I made sure I crossed all my t's and dotted my i's by isolating every other product so I could tell what worked and what didn't; and I can say with confidence this product did not work for my sensitive skin.

PRO

  • I liked the texture of the truth 3in 1 Melting cleanser , I may add it to my wish list

CON

  • Honestly, I disliked everything about the polishing sugar mask. I found too gritty and abrasive for my sensitive skin. I also couldn't bear the thick honey substance the sugar was mixed in, with every single application all I felt was the feeling of a new spot rearing its head through my skin.

  • Still on the polish, I personally would gave preferred either the pumpkin extract or the raw sugar because I felt it was too abrasive for most skin types to bear both .
The Vitamin C concentrate burned on application; it felt like a peel gone wrong. It was very uncomfortable especially after I just scraped my face with what felt like sand paper. Again If presented with the opportunity to use the concentrate on its own, I would but never with the polish .

  • After this experience the next day instead of a glow, I woke up to a very irritated skin that lead to a couple acne spots here and there so suffice to say it was a wrap.

I was really wanted to love this product but it just didn't work out. I am curious to hear any positive experience with this product.
