SKINCARE ROUTINE/ TESTING (AUGUST 2016 TO OCTOBER 2016)
August 27, 2016
In June 2016, I posted my current skincare routine/review. It’s been 2 months and I decided to purchase a few new items to test and update my routine.
EMMA HARDIE CLEANSING BALM $41.95
It is a botanical cleansing balm that removes makeup, debris and dirt off your skin. It is great for all skin types and I leave it on as a mask sometimes when I feel my skin is a little dry or stressed. A full detailed review will be posted soon.
: Moring seeds, wild seed fennel and vitamin E
Emma Hardie cleansing balm has been in my toilet cabinet for years. I love it and it is one of my go to products to take off make up , to calm and soothe my skin when irritated ot just a gentle AM cleanse
NEOGEN DERMALOGY GREEN TEA REAL FRESH FOAM CLEANSER $19
This is a gentle water based foaming cleanser that is great for all skin types especially sensitive skin types. It gently removes dirt while brightening and hydrating your face.
: Fermented Green tea Extract
It’s a mild cleanser and it is not drying . It has a mild fragrance that reminds me of baby products . So far so good . Full review to come in 4weeks.
BEAUTY WATER $30

HERBIVORE BLUE TANSY AHA+BHA RESURFACING CLARITY MASK $48
It is an exfoliating mask that resurfaces the skin leaving it smooth, clear and soft to touch.
Fruit enzymes , white willow bark, blue tansy oil
I love using enzymes to exfoliate my face; I would use enzymes over granular exfoliation /exfoliating beads any day so when I discovered this Enzyme mask I got it the minute I could . I just used it today so I don’t have a full Verdict yet so I will keep you posted soon.
CLINIQUE PEP-START EYE CREAM $26.50
Instant hydrating and brightening eye cream infused with peptides to give the build collagen while de-stressing and depuffing your eyes.
no visible active ingredients on the pack will have to do a little research to find this out
I am a mum of a toddler and a 7 month old so my days and nights are extremely busy and draining. I wake up every day with bags and raccoon eyes so I figured I purchase an eyes cream that is affordable but claims to revive my eyes area. It’s been a couple weeks and I have not noticed any brightening of my eyes . As usual , I will keep using this for another six weeks before I come to any conclusion .
CLINIQUE TURNAROUND OVERNIGHT REVITALIZING MOISTURIZER $39.50
A night moisturizer that should tone, get rid of sun damage, plump and revive your skin while you rest through the night.
:There are no ingredients written on the jar of the cream and I could not find it anywhere online. All that is written is the fact that it is 100% fragrance free, but states no active ingredient which is a red flag to me. I do not remember seeing any list on the pack it came in (which I unfortunately I have thrown out). I will need to investigate and when I do I will add an update.
It is a good moisturizer. It is oil free, lightweight and very hydrating. It has not made a ton of difference to my skin but I think it is a good moisturizer and will compliment other treatments.
Cleanse with EMMA HARDIE
cleansing balm used in the morning using a face cloth.
MISSHA TIME REVOLUTION FIRST TREATMENT ESSENCE
KLAIRS VITAMIN C SERUM $23.00
: Ethyl ascorbic acid 25%, Pre-solubilized Resorcinol Complex
This is a good vitamin c serum. It is mild enough for new vitamin c convert to use or if you are in the look out for affordable vitamin c that gets the job done . Thumbs up!
CLINIQUE PEPSTART HYDRO BLUR MOISTURIZER $29.50
It is an oil free moisturizer that hydrates the skin while blurring the skin of any imperfections and giving it a matte appearance all in one jar.
: no ingredients available on pack
The Clinique pep -start hydro blur moisturizer just launched in the market about a 6 weeks ago I believe . I am still undecided about this moisturizer , I don’t hate it but I don’t love it either . It feels more like a primer than a hydrating moisturizer which is great if you wear makeup frequently . I will hold off reviewing this for at least another 4 weeks of use .
BIORÉ UV AQUA RICH WATERY ESSENCE SPF 50 PA ++++ $ $11.56
It’s a chemical sunscreen which has SPF 50 with UVA and UVB skin protection . It is a water based sunscreen and it is does not leave a white Castle on your face .
WATER ,ETHYLHEXYL METHOXYCINNAMATE , DIETHYLAMINO HYDROXYBENZOYL HEXYL BENZOATE,
I have used the Algenist ultra light weight sunscreen to date because I have not found any sunscreen in the market that has come close to the results as it. This water essence SPF has performed very well so far. It’s a good price and because it doesn’t leave a white cast on your face , it will compliment most people of colour. I plan on using it a little longer before giving my full review .
As mentioned earlier in the upcoming weeks I plan to review each product in more detail . Until then fingers crossed … hoping for no bumps or irritated skin. Have a great weekend .
